Potting Soil Mix

1. For New Potted Plants or Repotting

• Select a Pot: Choose a container with good drainage holes at the bottom to prevent waterlogging.

• Fill the Base: Add the potting soil mix to the bottom of the pot (usually about 1/3 full, depending on the size of your plant's root ball).

• Place the Plant: Gently remove your plant from its old container, loosen the outer roots slightly, and center it in the new pot.

• Fill the Sides: Add more potting soil mix around the sides of the root ball. Press down gently with your fingers to eliminate large air pockets, but do not pack it too tightly.

• Leave Space: Leave about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of space between the top of the soil and the rim of the pot so water doesn't overflow when you water it.

• Water Thoroughly: Give the plant a good watering until you see it draining out of the bottom holes. This helps settle the soil.

2. Refreshing Existing Potted Plants

• Top-Dressing: Carefully scrape away the top 1–2 inches of old, dried-out soil from your existing pots, being careful not to damage the plant's roots.

• Replenish: Replace it with fresh potting soil mix to introduce new nutrients and improve aeration.

💡 Quick Tips:

• Moisture Check: Always check if the soil mix is slightly damp before using it. If it is bone-dry, mix in a little water before putting it in the pot so it absorbs moisture more evenly later.

• Need a Specific Blend? If you are planting specific varieties like succulents, cacti, or orchids, they usually require a lighter blend mixed with extra perlite, sand, or bark for faster drainage.
